It shames me to say that it seems that now, some hospitals are neglecting mentally ill patients to the point that, within weeks of each other in July 2008, there were two recorded deaths of these patients. The first death to be mentioned in the Mental Health Year in Review: 2008 was a death in King's County Hospital in New York where a mentally ill woman died in the waiting room. The second, which shames me the most, was in Cherry Hospital in Goldsburo, North Carolina when a mentally ill man was left for 22 hours in a chair without being feed or allowed to the restrooms. This shows the ugly side of humanity which always saddens me. I wish that stuff like this was not so seen, but unfortunately, it is.
