This is my final blog post for my psychology class!!! hmmmz. i wonder if i should b glad or sad? Well altogether, i think that it waz a very good experience. i really liked my class, the class waz interesting to say the least, and i got to learn a lot about the human brain and mind. if there waz anything i did not like, i have to say that it waz the occasional Current Events that we were supposed 2 do. what i really loved aboot the class was learning of all the psychological disorders...seems weird huh...and starting this blog. I do think that Mrs. Halfen should, for next year, not make the students have to take quizes on any films watched. What sould be done instead is that the students should take notes while watching the film, and then have to turn those in. Also, as my teacher said, i do think that she should show at least one reality show.
It shames me to say that it seems that now, some hospitals are neglecting mentally ill patients to the point that, within weeks of each other in July 2008, there were two recorded deaths of these patients. The first death to be mentioned in the Mental Health Year in Review: 2008 was a death in King's County Hospital in New York where a mentally ill woman died in the waiting room. The second, which shames me the most, was in Cherry Hospital in Goldsburo, North Carolina when a mentally ill man was left for 22 hours in a chair without being feed or allowed to the restrooms. This shows the ugly side of humanity which always saddens me. I wish that stuff like this was not so seen, but unfortunately, it is.
